As a business we do our best to be environmentally conscious and we’re always looking at ways that we can help the fight against climate change and reduce our carbon footprint.
So when we discovered Plant One Cornwall they immediately caught our attention and we wanted to find out how we could contribute.
Through discussions with the Plant One team we felt that a way we could this was through the EV side of our business.
We know that there is evidence that having an electric vehicle is kinder to the environment than petrol or diesel cars, but this doesn’t mean that electric cars do not cause any environmental pollution and unfortunately there is no current way of eliminating this completely.
What we can do is tackle this by trying to balance it out, by making positive environmental changes. Plant One Cornwall are a community interest company who bring business, individuals and landowners together to plant trees in Cornish soil.
We see partnering up with Plant One as a great opportunity to make a difference, on our behalf they will be planting one tree for every EV charger we install.
Our first tree is going in the ground in September and we’re excited to organise a team day out to Argyl Reservoir in Falmouth to see the tree being planted.
We were also very interested to discover some of the immediate benefits to the local area:
- Flood prevention/drought prevention
- Reduction of soil compaction and reversal of soil degradation
- Noise reduction
- Windbreak and weather shelter
We will be updating our socials with updates on our tree planting journey, so keep your eyes peeled.
